According to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan oilfield service market will begin to revive in 2019, primarily as a result of continuation of the project to expand the Tengiz field.
In the first 9 months of 2018, crude oil production in Kazakhstan amounted to 57.6 million tons, 6.5%more than a year earlier. More than 60% of production is traditionally accounted for by the country’s key oil region - the Atyrau region. Thus, at the Tengiz field, crude oil production is 21.5 million tons, with more than 1 million tons of liquefied gas, 6.9 billion cubic meters of dry gas, and 1.8 million tons of sulfur sold. Energy Ministry forecasts indicate that oilproduction at Kashagan in 2018 may exceed 12 million tons.
In addition, TCO has launched two major projects in Tengiz since 2016: Future Expansion and WellheadPressure Management, both scheduled to be completed in 2022. These projects provide an opportunity to develop related projects in other sectors of the economy from engineering, services, transportation to construction.
