With the Kazakhstan Tax Code frequently undergoing important changes, the Almaty Tax Working Group aims to be at the forefront of these and other important issues regarding taxation. Compared of Kazakhstani tax experts, this Group meets monthly to discuss tax implementation and legislative amendments. Topics covered over the past year include royalties, transfer pricing, capital gains tax, anti-money laundering, horizontal monitoring and e-audit, tax incentives for investors, risk management system, tax treaties and double taxation, and VAT.
The Group has often produced letters to the Ministry of Finance proposing changes to the Tax Code, proposals that have been taken up at AmCham’s monthly meetings with the Prime Minister.
