EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FINANCIAL SUPPORT URGENTLY NEEDED

TURKEY – SYRIA

UNITED NATIONS HIGH COMMISSION FOR REFUGEES (UNHCR)

We are all aware of the devastation caused by the recent earthquake in southern Turkey and northern Syria and the incalculable human grief that it has entailed. The infrastructure damage has destroyed entire cities, towns, and villages that are now without housing or support for the earthquake survivors who are left without medical treatment or the ability to address their daily needs. This vacuum will last for a long time, possibly many years until the region can be returned to a semblance of normalcy.

The United Nations High Commission for Relief (UNHCR), a long-time AmCham member and multiple Nobel Peace Prize Winner, as well as AmCham Award Winner for its global humanitarian work, are present in the cross-border earthquake zone with other global agencies seeking to rescue and support the survivors. However, financial resources are sorely lacking and so AmCham is seeking financial support that will enable UNHCR to deliver their humanitarian services. Any financial support you are able to offer will be directly administered by UNHCR and is guaranteed to be monitored and designated to serve the most immediate needs.

Please contact UNHCR Representative Hans Friedrich Schodder for further information and to offer whatever financial commitment is within your means for the survivors of the Turkish/ Syrian earthquake tragedy that continues to develop.
