Advocacy webinars

The AmCham Weekly Spring Webinar Series presented twelve Webinars between February-April 2021 aimed at examining and discussing reform priorities in Kazakhstan’s post-pandemic period.  The priorities were set out in President Tokayev’s September 1 Address to the Nation for Kazakhstan’s Economic Recovery. The President’s reform agenda was ambitious and so the topics chosen by AmCham were also ambitious – complex and challenging reforms that have been discussed for many years, both by AmCham in their meetings with the Prime Minister and in other advocacy for over a three-month period.

The Webinars were devoted to each of twelve reform topics for one hour on Friday afternoons.  The Webinar topics were structured in sequence to focus on macroeconomic and legal issues in February, industry-specific topics in March, and socio-economic topics in April.  Outstanding speakers – two speakers for each Webinar - from diverse international, institutional and industry backgrounds outlined the obstacles posed by reform for the given topic, how these obstacles can be approached, and made recommendations for their resolution.  A half-hour Q&A discussion followed the presentations.
