The Aktau Trade and Customs Working Group was formed in order to better engage AmCham members in Aktau, with a focus on the oil and gas industry. Given the current Government initiative to unify the Tax and Customs Codes, the Group will aim to inform and impact on this process. Another focus will be the Customs Union and its impact on customs and trade legislation and regulations.
The Group will collaborate with the Almaty, Astana, and Atyrau Trade and Customs Working Groups on overlapping issues and advocate on behalf of AmCham members to relevant agencies within the Government of Kazakhstan. Other topics of consideration include local content regulation.
