Doniyorbek Zulunov
He has over 25 years of experience advising clients on a wide range of tax matters across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic. He specializes in structuring inbound investments, supporting transactions involving equity and share deals, and advising on cross-border taxation issues. Doniyorbek has significant experience in organizing and leading tax due diligence projects, including those in the energy, natural resources, manufacturing, construction, and real estate sectors.
He has led numerous tax advisory and due diligence projects for major international and regional companies, including banking and industrial groups. His practice places particular emphasis on the taxation of intra-group services, withholding tax issues, application of double tax treaties, and the concept of beneficial ownership.
Doniyorbek has represented clients in negotiations related to asset acquisitions and disposals in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic.
He graduated with distinction from the Tashkent State University of Economics with a degree in International Economic (Monetary and Credit) Relations. He also studied Economics at the University of Wisconsin (USA). Doniyorbek is a certified auditor in Uzbekistan and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK).
