Kevin Freake
Kevin Freake, a Canadian-trained healthcare professional, is the General Director of Kazanada LLP and a recognized leader in emergency medical services development in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. With over 40 years of experience in healthcare management, consultancy, and business leadership, he has dedicated his career to improving emergency care systems and medical education across the region.
Since moving to Kazakhstan in 2001, Mr. Kevin has founded five successful LLPs, including Kazanada and KazMedConsult. Through these companies, he has led projects in medical management, system redesign, and international accreditation preparation. Notably, through KazMedConsult, he directed a two-year consultancy project (2017-2019) for the World Bank`s emergency care reform initiative, which resulted in substantial improvements in ambulance response times, emergency department organization, and instructor certification standards.
As head of Kazanada`s International Training Center, he has established partnerships with the American Heart Association (AHA), the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), and the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED). His work has contributed to training more than 1,000 healthcare professionals and certifying over 100 local instructors in internationally accredited programs such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, TECC, and others.
He has represented Kazakhstan in multiple international delegations to the UK, Canada, and the United States to study best practices in prehospital care delivery. Kevin Freake also serves on several national and international boards, including the Asian NAEMT EMS Education Committee and the Kazakhstan Association of Emergency Medical Services.
His contributions have been recognized through numerous honors, including the ROK Ministry of Health Medal for Healthcare (2017) and the American Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2009 & 2023). Mr. Kevin currently resides in Astana with his family.
