AmCham Members Raise Tax Issues at Prime Minister’s Council

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov hosted the first Prime Minister’s Council to Improve the Investment Climate of 2025, where AmCham Kazakhstan member companies outlined key tax issues concerning delayed VAT refunds, VAT on medicine and overuse of royalties.

Speakers included Erlan Dosymbekov EY, Cécile Rauline ExxonMobil, Dmitry Kozenkov Pfizer, Evgeniy Nastradin Beeline Kazakhstan, and Yeldos Syzdykov Deloitte. US Consul General Michelle Yerkin, UK Ambassador Kathy Leach,  EU Chargé d’Affaires Maciej Adam Madalinski, AmCham Executive Director Jeff Erlich supported the statements of the business community.

Prime Minister Bektenov, joined by Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova, Minister of Economy Serik Zhumangarin, and Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev, engaged directly with the raised concerns.
