AmCham Tax Committee Continued Work on the SME Deductions Issue

On March 13, AmCham Kazakhstan’s Tax Committee held a focused discussion on next steps regarding the SME deductions issue.

Members reviewed how to strengthen the international comparison by looking not only at special tax regimes in other countries, but also at how those systems compare with the general tax regime, including relevant rates, thresholds, and anti-fragmentation mechanisms. The discussion also moved beyond comparative analysis to consider practical proposals that could help address business concerns while responding to government priorities.

Members agreed on the importance of gathering coordinated input and continuing the discussion based on practical business experience.
