Strengthening Investor Protection Through AmCham–Prosecutor General Engagement

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Berik Asylov, and Jeff Erlich met April 23 to discuss cooperation on improving the investment climate.

The Prosecutor General outlined how his office is strengthening the protection of investors’ rights through a newly formed committee, dedicating points of contact for all major investments, and an expert group that studies common problems with investment.

Jeff noted concrete examples of AmCham members who had quickly resolved issues with prosecutors’ help and offered to help publicize this new mechanism among members.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation aimed at enhancing the country’s investment attractiveness.
