AmCham Kazakhstan is looking for two motivated and proactive interns to support AmCham events and communications for the Fall 2026 semester. Both interns will gain practical experience working with the AmCham team, member companies, external partners, and vendors.
About AmCham Kazakhstan
The American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan represents leading international and Kazakhstani companies. We provide a platform for business dialogue, support improvements to Kazakhstan’s investment climate, and connect our members with companies, government officials, diplomats, media, and other stakeholders.
The Communications Intern will support the AmCham team with:
- developing content for AmCham’s annual Investors’ Voice magazine;
- preparing content for the annual AmCham Awards Gala;
- developing the AmCham Social Impact Projects Database for the website;
- providing ongoing content support for the AmCham website and social media;
- helping organize joint volunteering activities through the AmCham CSR Network;
- translating and proofreading materials in English, Russian, and/or Kazakh;
- assisting with other communications and administrative tasks as needed.
The Events Intern will support the AmCham team with:
- organizing the AmCham Awards Gala;
- supporting Sundowner Happy Hours and other AmCham business and networking events;
- coordinating with venues, suppliers, and other external vendors;
- supporting event-related documentation;
- preparing event materials and assisting with event logistics;
- helping with registration and on-site event coordination;
- assisting with other events and administrative tasks as needed.
Some events may take place outside regular working hours.
Applicants for both positions must:
- be currently studying at an AmCham member university (KIMEP University, Narxoz University, or ASU) or be referred by an AmCham member;
- be fluent in Kazakh or Russian and have advanced English;
- preferably major in journalism, communications, international relations, business, or another relevant field;
- have experience organizing events and genuinely enjoy event coordination;
- be quick learners;
- work efficiently and meet deadlines;
- be proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable handling different types of assignments;
- have their own laptop.
Internship Term and Format
- Term: September through mid-December 2026;
- Schedule: part-time, approximately 20 hours per week;
- a hybrid and flexible schedule may be available;
- interns will receive AmCham corporate email addresses and access to Microsoft tools;
- interns must use their own laptops.
The internships are unpaid. However:
- they may be completed for academic credit, subject to the requirements of the intern’s university;
- each intern will receive a recommendation letter upon successful completion of the internship;
- interns will gain practical experience and networking opportunities with AmCham members and partners, including leading companies in Kazakhstan, government officials, diplomats, and media representatives.
