Members of AmCham Kazakhstan’s Digitalization Committee met with Alexey Tsoy, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for a roundtable discussion on proposed amendments to Kazakhstan’s Online Platforms and Mass Media legislation.

AmCham fully supports the objectives of protecting minors and strengthening information security. At the same time, members shared a consolidated industry position emphasizing the importance of clear, proportionate, and technically feasible regulation aligned with international best practices.

The discussion also addressed practical approaches to online safety, digital literacy, platform-led safety tools, legal presence requirements, liability, and implementation timelines.

We thank AmCham members and partners, including Meta, Apple, Baker McKenzie, Outpost | Eurasia, inDrive, and Aretera Public Affairs, for helping develop a shared industry position and contributing their expertise to this important discussion.

We are also grateful to Mr. Tsoy, members of Parliament, and representatives of government agencies for their openness, constructive approach, and willingness to engage in dialogue with the business community.

AmCham remains ready to support balanced solutions that help protect users online, preserve innovation, and support Kazakhstan’s progress toward becoming a digital state.
