KIOGE at 30: From Major Oil and Gas Projects to New Energy Value Chains, Technologies and International Partnerships

From September 30 to October 2, 2026, Almaty will host the 30th Anniversary International Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition, KIOGE 2026. For three decades, the event has served as one of the oil and gas industry’s key professional platforms, bringing together government authorities, national and international companies, operators of major projects, equipment manufacturers, technology providers and oilfield service companies.

In its anniversary year, the exhibition is expanding its international presence. KIOGE 2026 will bring together more than 500 companies from 30 countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, China, Germany, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Oman, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Türkiye, the UAE, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uzbekistan.

First-time exhibitors will include A&B Technology, ATV Kazakhstan, Terranova Kazakhstan, Temir Paint, Corrocoat Caspian, Maqsad Petroleum, MIS Kazakhstan, Chemelex, Beruseal Caspian, Regent KZ, Energoskan, Etus and other companies, further expanding the range of technologies, products and industry solutions presented at the event.

An important component of the exhibition will be the practice-oriented business programme in the conference hall of Pavilion 8. On September 30 and October 1, companies will present technological solutions, practical case studies, procurement programmes and opportunities for cooperation with the oil and gas sector. As part of the seminar programme, LMP Project Group CA will discuss the use of secure AI agents in EPC projects, KSP STEEL will present well productivity enhancement technologies, and Topan will address the intelligent optimisation of oil and gas processing operations. NCOC will provide information on procurement and supplier qualification, while WPC Energy will present the 26th WPC Energy Congress, to be held in Astana on June 11–15, 2028. KPO and Tengizchevroil will outline opportunities for domestic suppliers and current procurement priorities.

30th Anniversary KIOGE International Conference

The centrepiece of the professional agenda will be the 30th Anniversary KIOGE International Conference, to be held on September 30 – October 1 at The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty, under the overarching theme “From Megaprojects to Market Leadership: Kazakhstan in the Global Energy Mix.” The programme will focus on Kazakhstan’s strategic role in the changing architecture of the global energy market, the development of major projects, international cooperation and the adoption of new technologies.

Highlights of the anniversary conference will include a strategic dialogue involving ministers from Central Asian countries, a presentation of the National Energy Report, a special session featuring legends of the oil and gas industry, and meetings with executives of national companies and operating companies. Particular attention will be given to geological exploration, gas and petrochemicals, artificial intelligence, ESG, logistics and other areas of industry transformation.

The key items on the professional agenda for September 30 will include:

• The plenary session “Global Integration: Kazakhstan’s Role in New Energy Value Chains,” covering Kazakhstan’s role in the global energy agenda beyond 2030, international technology partnerships, critical minerals and new opportunities for creating added value in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors;
• The strategic session “Intelligent Upstream: From Seismic Survey to the Well,” focusing on the development of geological exploration, digital technologies and the application of artificial intelligence at the exploration and production stages;
• During the panel session “Export Logistics and the Geopolitics of Routes,” experts will examine existing and alternative export routes, as well as prospects for strengthening Kazakhstan’s role in the regional energy export system;
• The showcase “Practical Cases of Digital Transformation in the Oil and Gas Industry: AI, Automation and New Technologies” will feature real-world examples of the use of artificial intelligence, automation and digital solutions in production processes;
• The panel session “Low-Carbon Development, ESG and Climate Regulation: New Standards” will address carbon neutrality, environmental regulation and investment in low-carbon projects;
• During the panel discussion “Oil and Gas Engineering and Petrochemicals,” participants will examine current issues related to the development of these areas within the oil and gas sector.

The first day will conclude with an awards ceremony and a screening of the KIOGE anniversary film dedicated to the event’s 30-year history.

On October 1, the programme will continue with the following topics:

• The strategic session “Gas and Gas Chemicals: A Value-Processing Strategy” will focus on the development of gas processing and gas chemical projects, infrastructure, gas-fired power generation and investment mechanisms;
• Another major event of the day will be the WPC Energy presentation for the diplomatic corps and executives of international companies;
• The panel session “Nuclear Energy in the Long-Term Energy Security Strategy” will discuss the role of nuclear power generation in the energy mix, technology selection, localisation and the industry’s readiness to implement new projects;
• The ENERGY MIX & POLICY panel session will focus on developing the energy mix and further shaping industry policy;
• The practical session “Turnkey GR”, a business game presented by GR Hub Kazakhstan, will explore approaches to building business–government engagement and integrating the GR function into corporate strategy;
• During the anniversary session “Industry Legends on Challenges and Achievements,” oil and gas industry veterans will share their experience and vision for the industry’s future development;
• The PR & HR business simulation “No Solid Ground: A New Reality – How Leaders Can Manage in a World of Instability, Change and Artificial Intelligence,” organised jointly with Harvard Business Impact, will focus on new approaches to leadership and management amid ongoing change and the development of AI.

The anniversary edition of KIOGE 2026 will combine an international exhibition, practical knowledge sharing and high-level strategic dialogue, creating a platform for discussing the prospects of the oil, gas and energy sector, presenting modern technologies, developing business ties and shaping new areas of international cooperation.
