Moody’s Upgrades Rating of BCC Invest

The international rating agency Moody’s has upgraded the long-term corporate rating of BCC Invest to Ba2, as well as the Counterparty Risk Ratings (CRR) in foreign and local currency to Ba2, with a Stable outlook.
The upgrade of the long-term corporate rating was driven by BCC Invest’s performance and execution of its strategic plans, as well as the upgrade of its parent company, Bank CenterCredit, from Ba1 to Baa3, which in turn strengthens market confidence in BCC Invest.
The agency notes that the strong creditworthiness of the parent company enhances its ability to provide support to BCC Invest if necessary. According to Moody’s, BCC Invest’s financial indicators remain stable.
As highlighted by Moody’s, BCC Invest’s risk appetite is moderate, as evidenced by the company’s conservative investment approach: 95% of its investment portfolio is allocated to government fixed-income securities or stable large corporate securities, including the quasi-sovereign sector.
“The company relies heavily on its own capital and funding from its parent company, keeping financing risks at a low level,” the agency’s statement said.
The ratings also reflect constraints related to the company’s focus on its own assets in Kazakhstan, the limited depth and maturity of the Kazakhstani capital markets, as well as the cyclicality of the system driven by investment cycles and monetary policy.
It is worth noting that in September 2024, BCC Invest received its first corporate rating from Moody’s at the Ba2 level.
“The upgrade of BCC Invest’s rating reflects the results of our consistent work and the well-chosen strategy of the entire group. We intend to further enhance business efficiency while adhering to a long-term strategy of stable and sustainable growth,” said Alibek Urazakov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of BCC Invest
